Dr. Omics Labs Signs MOU with CHRIST (Deemed to be University) for Bioinformatics Training, Internships and Certification
Dr. Omics Labs and CHRIST (Deemed to be University) sign an MOU covering bioinformatics lectures, faculty training, Delhi internships, LSSSDC certification and placements.
About this Achievement
Dr. Omics Labs has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CHRIST (Deemed to be University). The MOU gives CHRIST students and faculty seven programmes: a campus lecture on bioinformatics, a one-month online Faculty Upgrade Programme, 2–3 month internships in Delhi, monthly webinars and workshops, a 6-month LSSSDC-certified course, placement support and joint PMKVY certification.
What is the Dr. Omics Labs and CHRIST University MOU?
The MOU is a formal academic–industry partnership between Dr. Omics Labs, a bioinformatics training and research organisation in Delhi, and CHRIST (Deemed to be University), one of India's leading academic institutions.
It brings together Dr. Omics Labs' hands-on expertise in bioinformatics, genomics and computational biology and CHRIST's academic strength in the life sciences. The aim is to help students and faculty build practical, industry-ready skills in one of the fastest-growing fields of modern biology.
The programmes form a clear path for students. They start with an introductory lecture, build skills through webinars and internships, earn certifications recognised across the country, and get support in finding a job. Faculty members get structured training so they can bring bioinformatics into their own teaching and research.
What does the MOU offer CHRIST students and faculty?
1. Lecture on the Benefits of Bioinformatics (10 November 2026)
Dr. Omics Labs will give a lecture on the benefits of bioinformatics at the CHRIST University campus on 10 November 2026. The session covers what bioinformatics is, how it is used in genomics, drug discovery and healthcare, and the careers it opens up for life science students.
- Date: 10 November 2026
- Venue: CHRIST (Deemed to be University) campus
- Fee: Rs. 500 per student
- Best for: UG and PG students in biotechnology, microbiology, life sciences and allied fields
2. Faculty Upgrade Programme
The Faculty Upgrade Programme is a one-month online training programme for CHRIST faculty, held in December 2026. It gives educators a working knowledge of bioinformatics tools and methods they can use in teaching, research projects and student mentoring.
- Duration: 1 month
- Mode: Online
- Fee: Paid programme, supported by UGC funding
- Best for: Faculty in life sciences, biotechnology, chemistry and related departments
3. Student Internships at Our Delhi Facility
CHRIST students can take up 2–3 month internships at the Dr. Omics Labs facility in Delhi. Interns work on real bioinformatics projects under expert guidance and get hands-on experience with the tools, datasets and workflows used in industry and research.
- Duration: 2–3 months
- Location: Dr. Omics Labs, Delhi
- Outcome: Practical project experience and an internship certificate
4. Monthly Webinars and Workshops
Dr. Omics Labs will hold online webinars and workshops for CHRIST students and faculty every month. Sessions focus on current topics such as NGS data analysis, computer-aided drug design and programming for biologists.
- Frequency: Monthly
- Mode: Online
5. LSSSDC-Certified Course for Graduating Students
Graduating students can enrol in a 6-month online LSSSDC-certified course. LSSSDC (Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council) is the national body that sets skill standards for India's life sciences sector, so its certificate shows employers that the holder has job-ready skills.
- Duration: 6 months
- Mode: Online
- Certification: LSSSDC
6. Placement Support and Assistance
Dr. Omics Labs will provide placement support to eligible CHRIST students. This includes career guidance in bioinformatics and the life sciences, and help connecting with relevant employers.
7. Joint Certification under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)
Joint certificates will be issued under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), the Government of India's flagship skill development scheme. This gives the skills students build through the partnership national, government-backed recognition.
How the Partnership Benefits Students and Faculty
For students, the MOU takes them from first exposure to a first job. They learn why bioinformatics matters, practise it on real projects, earn LSSSDC and PMKVY credentials that employers recognise, and get help with placements.
For faculty, the Faculty Upgrade Programme and monthly sessions bring current tools and methods into the classroom, strengthening curricula and research.
For the university, the partnership adds skill-based learning linked to industry, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 focus on internships and employability.
